Every pharma enterprise should have a methodology for identifying and evaluating the risks it faces and it should have a process for generating intervention plans to reduce the risks to an acceptable level. This process is generally referred to as a Risk Management Plan. A Risk Management Program starts with identifying the possible risks (and benefits) associated with a product or with the process used to develop, manufacture, and distribute the product. Thus, the risk analysis of a pharmaceutical product includes its manufacturing processes, analytical procedures, various supporting facilities required at various stages of product manufacture, and supply, distribution channel of the product.
